Dominican Laity (Mysteria Lucis Chapter)

Are you being called to a deeper relationship with God, in the spirit of St. Dominic? Mysteria Lucis chapter is the lay Dominican community in Vancouver. As a branch of the Order of Preachers, the community shares the charism encapsulated by St. Thomas Aquinas as “to contemplate and to give to others the fruits of that contemplation”. The pillars of lay Dominican life include prayer, study, community and mission, the mission of evangelization, sharing the Truth. The group meets in the rectory basement, usually on the first and third Saturdays of the month, from 9:15am until noon. Inquirers explore their vocation through formation on Dominican spirituality, saints and lay Dominican life, including the Rule and tatutes, and participate in prayer and ongoing formation with the entire community. There are periodic retreats and Dominican Family celebrations with the friars, nuns or sisters, and the group also organizes the quarterly Catholic Forum at St. Mary’s.
