This talk will discuss estate planning and its objectives, the importance of the Will, how to choose an Executor, the duties and responsibilities of an Executor, the Probate (process, fees and how to avoid), the Power of Attorney, guardianship, and some advance healthcare planning tips. It will also provide a perspective on the importance and benefits of leaving a legacy (charitable giving) and describe different ways to give with attendant tax benefits.
It will end with discussing the Estate Planning guide, which will help you jumpstart creating a new Will or reviewing an old one.
Georgia is the Associate Director for Planned Giving for the Archdiocese of Vancouver. She holds a Master of Arts in Economics degree and brings over 13 years of experience in senior leadership roles in the Banking and Finance industry. Georgia is an active member of Ablaze Prayer Group at St. Mary's Parish and Opus Dei in Richmond.

Peter is the Director of Catholic cemeteries, a ministry of hope and healing. He will share insights and wisdom from his tenure managing the Gardens of Gethsemani. He’ll speak to the importance of preparation and how our Church offers hope and meaning in the beauty of the funeral Mass followed by sacred burial. Peter will offer insights from his thesis work, “Life without End.”
