St. Mary’s Padre Pio Prayer Group (PPPG) is affiliated with the International Padre Pio Prayer Group in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy, founded by Saint Padre Pio himself. We belong to 3,000 prayer groups worldwide and the first and only PPPG here in BC. As an intercessory prayer group, we continue the work that St. Padre Pio started years ago to help souls to meet Christ. Under the guidance of our Spiritual Director, we pray as intercessors for the Church’s salvific mission through her Sacraments and ministries, especially the Confession Ministry.
We meet every 1st Saturday of the month on Zoom from 7:00– 9:00 pm during COVID restrictions, as we wait to return to our regular schedule 1st Saturday of the month in the morning at St. Mary’s. Our meetings serve to get to know Saint Padre Pio, and how the Holy Spirit continues to work through this stigmatised saint, in the PPPG catechetical presentations. We are also excited about our PPPG Bible study every 3rd Thursday of the month on Zoom from 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm led by our PPPG Spiritual Director, Father David Bellusci, to help deepen our knowledge of the Scriptures, growing in our life of faith, and doing what is good and pleasing to God (1 John 3:32).
Saint Padre Pio said; “Let us remember that the heart of Jesus has called us not only for our own sanctification but also for other souls. He wants us to be the helpers in the salvation of souls.” God calls each of us to grow in faith and live by charity. You can be an intercessor or a volunteer. Come and join us!
