Holy Week Schedule 2026
Who is Jesus

Pastor's Corner Mar.29.2026 - Passion Sunday to Easter Sunday

by Joseph D'Souza, OP

Dear Parishioners,

With Passion Sunday, we step into the most sacred and intense week of the Church’s year—Holy Week. It is not just a remembrance of past events, but a living participation in the mystery of our salvation. The liturgy now invites us to walk closely with Christ: to journey with Him from the joy of His entrance into Jerusalem, through the sorrow of His suffering, and into the glory of His Resurrection.

At the heart of this week lies the Sacred Triduum—the three holiest days that form one single, continuous celebration:

  • Holy Thursday: We commemorate the institution of the Eucharist and the priesthood at the Last Supper (cf. John 13:1–15; Luke 22:14–20). Jesus gives us the gift of His Body and Blood and shows us the way of humble service through the washing of feet.

  • Good Friday: We stand at the foot of the Cross (cf. John 18:1–19:42). It is a solemn day of love and sacrifice, where we contemplate the depth of Christ’s suffering and the immeasurable mercy of God poured out for us.

  • Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday: In the darkness, the light of Christ breaks forth (cf. Matthew 28:1–10; Luke 24:1–12). Death is conquered, hope is restored, and new life is given to all who believe.

These are not simply days to observe—they are mysteries to enter. I encourage each of you to participate fully in these sacred liturgies, allowing the grace of God to renew your hearts and strengthen your faith. A good confession is one of the best ways to prepare for this celebration.

I wish all of you a fruitful Holy Week. This is my last Pastor’s Corner before Easter. So, I wish you also a blessed and joyful Easter. May the Risen Christ fill your homes with peace, hope, and love.

My heartfelt gratitude to all our priests, dedicated and selfless volunteers, liturgy team for the meticulous planning, choirs for enhancing the celebration with melodious and meaningful hymns, the Live Stations of the Cross team, RCIA team and everyone who played a part, big or small, to make this celebration truly spiritual. May God bless everyone of you and your loved ones.

Personal News: On a personal note, I would like to share some good news. My work permit and visa have now been renewed, for which I am deeply grateful to God and to you. After two years of continuous ministry in the parish, I will be taking my annual vacation. I will be away for six weeks, from April 8th to May 27th.

I will certainly miss you all, but I also feel the need for this time of rest and renewal. I humbly ask you to keep me in your prayers during this period. Let us remain united in prayer, even in absence, trusting that the Lord continues to guide and bless our parish community.

With my prayers and best wishes to each of you,

Fr. Joseph Dominic D Souza OP
